Bakhter Development Network (BDN) was founded and officially registered in Afghanistan in 2001 as an Afghan non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and developmental organization.

BDN operates in accordance with its constitution in three main thematic areas i.e., Health, Education, and Agriculture & livestock. BDN with its current focus on public health and nutrition helps the communities to achieve their developmental goals while its wider vision is a world of enabled communities working towards a brighter future. BDN is currently engaged in multiple projects, including the Health Emergency Response (HER) initiative in Balkh and the Provision of Essential Life-Saving Health Services to Underserved Populations across the Northern Region of Afghanistan (Sar-e-Pul, Balkh, Samangan, Faryab, and Jawzjan Provinces), Provision of Health and Nutrition Services in Underserved Communities of Kunduz Province, and implementing the CBNP Project in Samangan province.

The Female Vaccinator will play a critical role in administering vaccinations to women and children as part of the “Provision of Health and Nutrition Services in Underserved Communities of Kunduz Province” project. This position involves ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of vaccines to protect the health of women and children.

• Prepare a monthly plan for daily activities inside the clinic and outreach activities in the respective area with the approval of the EPI supervisor.
• The vaccinator must display a copy of their daily work plan on the notice board for easy reference by the team and supervisors.
• Prepare, organize, and provide vaccination and exemption services for children and women in the clinic or the surrounding area, including remote outreach locations, according to established standards.

• Strive to increase coverage, reduce dropouts, work towards achieving targets, and chart vaccination section graphs.
• Arrange and store vaccines in the refrigerator, strictly adhere to cold chain conditions, and take responsibility for maintaining equipment and cold chain instruments.
• The vaccinator should keep records of the number and consumption of vaccines and syringes, providing monthly reports to the supervisor and clinic head.

• Maintain the vaccine inventory list at the clinic’s fax center, updating it quarterly and submitting it to the supervisor or clinic manager.
• Provide health education and promotion regarding exemptions and vaccinations to all residents within the health center’s coverage area.
• The vaccinator should actively collaborate with community health workers (CHWs), clinic personnel, and vaccination campaigns.

• Adhere to health preservation conditions during vaccine administration, infection prevention conditions, and the cold chain.
• Prepare monthly reports in accordance with the registry, tally sheets, and checks, and send them to the health center manager for review.
• Adhere to Islamic, ethical, cultural, and social norms within the health center and the community.

• Foster a friendly atmosphere among staff members and participate in meetings with other health center employees as needed.
• Have sufficient knowledge about the Basic Package of health services for Afghanistan and implement them in practice.

• Execute other tasks assigned by the health center manager or institution supervisor.

• Graduated from the 12^th grade or Training and certification in vaccination and immunization practices.
• Previous experience as a vaccinator is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of vaccination schedules and cold chain management.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals and families respectfully.
• Ability to work as part of a healthcare team.
• Familiarity with Afghan immunization programs and community engagement is a plus.
