Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Code EC driver’s license with valid PrDP
- 3 years experience driving a Ultra Heavy Vehicle
- Must be prepared to work weekends and public holidays
- Defensive driving techniques
- Function and location of vehicle components
- Reporting procedure of emergencies and defects
- Vehicle inspections and operating a fire extinguisher
- Maximizing vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency
- Vehicle loading techniques
- Own reliable transport
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle for trip and operate Ultra heavy duty vehicles.
- Load, Transport and offloading of vehicles.
- Handle required documentation and perform ancillary duties
- All other reasonable instructions from Supervisor
- Prepared to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
- Safe driving record and clean criminal record
- Housekeeping of vehicles, uniform and PPE
- Adhere to promote SOP’s and Safety Procedures Successfully undergo / complete the following:
- Medical evaluation
- USCS training modules
- Induction processes
- Practical driving evaluation
- Verification of clean criminal record

(Code 14) Truck driver with PDP and experience
- Academic training: grade 12.
- Requirements: professional with the ability to drive long hours and travel regularly, qualified professional with code 14 and with a PDP professional driving permit (driver’s license must be at least 3 years old), three years of experience driving heavy vehicles, Valid professional driving licence.
- Language: English and Afrikaans.
- Desirable Skills: Knowledge of traffic and area laws, good interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a team, residing in the city or surrounding area, leadership skills.
Professional roles and responsibilities:
- Comply with the times and procedures and safety regulations and correct use of resources;
- Collect the documentation for delivery;
- Check truck list and follow route to destination;
- Check the truck and load before going out on the road;
- Safe truck operation, use of seat belts, no use of electronic equipment, no smoking;
- Return of returned products, empty containers, undelivered invoices;
- Comply with 5S standards for a clean, safe and orderly workplace;
- Report to work with all applicable PPE;
- Make the shift change on time punctually;
- Communicate daily activities on the provided System;
- Unloading at the distribution center;
- Make the return checklist for distant trips.
